The story behind the art.

I'm Daan Herbes, a contemporary abstract artist living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. I specialize in fluid art, using my signature paint mixtures to create a specific look & feel. I use gravity, movement, stretching, bending, swiping, swirling, blowing and more creative techniques to turn empty canvases into works of abstract art.

My source of inspiration is not a usual one. My art finds its inception in COVID. I've always been a sports addict, but after a Corona infection I found myself suffering from Long Covid. As a result I could no longer pursue sports on the same level, and more often not at all. This gap has brought me on to the path of a newly found passion for art, an alternative to sports that has turned a negative into a positive. Art has given me purpose again.
